Interfaith Encounters - General Study Sessions

The Month of Ramadan and The Tishrei Jewish Holidays - Natanya-Qalansawa Interfaith Encounter on 26 October 2005:

On Wednesday, October the 26th, an encounter took place at the Ghazawi Family home. The encounter focused on the Month of Ramadan and the Tishrei Jewish Holidays.

During the encounter every one of the participants, from both communities, shared his or her way of life during their holy days. In addition, Avi Robinson made a remarkable comparison between the Muslim customs in the days of the Month of Ramadan and the Jewish customs in the Month of Tishrei.

There were many surprises as members of both communities learned to know how high the level of similarity between the two religions is.

The encounter was very interesting with a lot of will to know more about the other.

Many thanks to Neme who hosted us in her home in a wonderful warm atmosphere.

With the will of God, the next encounter will deal with the status of women in the different religions and how can women come closer through religion.
