Interfaith Encounters - General Study Sessions

The Teacher - Arabic Speaking Interfaith Encounter Group on 21st November 2007:

The last encounter of the Arabic Speaking Interfaith Encounter group was held on Wednesday, November 21st, at the home of Dr. Shlomo Alon in Jerusalem.

In this fascinating encounter took part 12 Jewish and Muslim members. The group focuses on speaking in official Arabic and is perhaps the unique one in the world and works within the framework of the Interfaith Encounter Association for raising awareness to the value of the official Arabic language, as a language of heritage and culture.

Among it participants we have educators, media people and even a constructor!

The encounter focused on two themes: the role of the teacher as educator and knowledge-giver in this era of "information explosion"; and reading in Arabic the PPPs of URI, in which IEA groups act as Cooperation Circles.

Reported by Group's Coordinators: Nadia Tutanji and Dr. Shlomo Alon
